As a business owner/real estate agent, you probably wake up everyday wondering what you can do to grow your business. It’s at the forefront of what you try and accomplish every day. So I’m going to give you 3 things you can do TODAY to grow your business.

First, you need a place to keep all of your friends, family, acquaintances, former coworkers, and people that know you. This is your foundation to success. I’ve seen some people do this on a notepad but with all the great programs out there, I highly recommend putting yours online. While you can get away with using excel, its best to use a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) program. There are dozens to choose from. A simple google search will give you plenty to choose from and compare. Make sure it includes space for their name, physical address, email address, phone number, and birthday at a minimum. To take it up a level, find one that allows you to send DRIP campaigns to and to set reminders to stay in touch with.

Next, make sure you stay in touch with your people that you put in your CRM. We call these people our “sphere” or “sphere of influence/SOI”. These are all the people that Know, Like, and Trust you. So how do you stay in touch? Well, like any friend, you want to be friendly. Call them to say hello, interact with them on social media, help them when they ask questions either to you or on social media, invite them to do things fun or go out to eat just to catch up, say happy birthday or happy anniversary, etc. You also want to make sure they remember you when it comes to real estate. So post about what you’re up to in real estate. Send them fun, engaging, and value added newsletters that remind them you are their friend in real estate.

Lastly, FOLLOW UP. What do I mean by this? I mean once you reach out to your sphere and they reply to you or agree to catch up, make sure you respond and follow through with the help you offered or the lunch/dinner or drink you promised them. Make sure you do what you say you will do. And once you do catch up with them, follow up with a hand written letter that goes to our in the mail telling them it was great catching up and hearing from them or what they have going on. Simply be a friend. No one cares how much you know until they know how much you care.
